DRINKING GLASSES

Through the school, we got to blow glass in Vocational School of Tavastia in Nuutajärvi. The purpose was to produce the drinking glasses designed in the previous course with the help of vocational school students.

Glass casting molds were machined into tar alder blanks, which were finished with grooves, hinges and handles for casting. The molds were immersed in water for a couple of days so that they could withstand the hot glass mass.

The intention was to create a well-fitting drinking glasses that would also please eye of the user. The glasses design started with usability above, seeking timeless and time lasting shapes.
